NYX Matte Lipstick in Natural

Hi there my gorgeous readers :) This post is about a lipstick I got in a swap. It is NYX matte lipstick in Natural. The formula is great. It is very creamy and the color payoff is great. I love it and I think I want to try other colors :D I like how the color of the lipstick appears from the transparent part of the tube.

If you know me well, you probably know that I have an addiction for lipsticks which started maybe 12 years ago or so and this lipstick is right up my alley :) Enjoy the pictures...

Revlon Lip Butters in Creme Brulee and Creamsicle

I am so excited to show these babies today :) I finally got my hands on a couple of Revlon Lip butters. The colors are Creme Brulee and Creamsicle. After I saw so many reviews about them, I could finally get a couple of these in a swap. I chose the light colors for everyday wear and I really like them :)

Creme Brulee is a nude color. I was actually surprised by the color payoff. I thought the darker colors will be pigmented not the lighter ones but this is just like a nude lipstick except that the formula is so creamy and soft.

Creamsicle is a light peachy color. This one is also pigmented for a light lip butter and they all have the same moisturizing formula.

Side by side for comparison and a swatch.

What do you think? Did you try any of the Revlon Lip Butters?

My Nails Today: Maybelline Sunlight

Today I am trying this Maybelline limited edition shade: Sunlight. It is a beautiful pearly light yellow with kind of a purple/grey lowlight effect. I love it. The application was nice although I needed three coats to get it opaque. I found it in Superstore along with a bunch of other discontinued shades... I think I like this color on my skin tone. Do you like it?

See you soon ;)

Maybelline Eyestudio Eyeliners

Hi there, I wanted to share my love for these cream eyeliners with you today. They are fantastic :D The colors are so rich and the formula is so creamy with a strong long lasting power. I must say, I like these much better than the ELF cream eyeliners. They also don't dry out so quickly like the ELF ones.

The brush which comes with them is amazing too. It's a regular eyeliner brush not an angled one but it is just perfect and makes the application so easy. Enjoy the pictures :)

New posting plan :)

Hi there my lovely readers,

Today's post is different. I haven't written any new posts for a while since we were so busy at home. Some of you know that I moved into a new appartment three months ago. But ever since that time, I have been living in a mess. We try to unpack and arrange every week but it seems like it's a never ending task. Finally, last weekend we bought a dinning table and chairs and I think this weekend we will get the rest of the shelves mounted on the walls to empty the floor for the dining room :)

Anyway, I accumulated some new makeup and nail polish items for the past months. Some of them I bought new but most of them are from MakeupAlley swaps and a giveaway which a lovely MakeupAlley member arranged. I gathered all of these items in a box but I still have a few swap packages coming on their way which will be added to the box too. I thought it would be fun to challenge myself to try them all and post the pictures :)

So, starting 1st of January, I will try to do the following and you are welcome to join me and do the same. I will do 2 posts every week. One post with the name of the product used, one or two pictures, plus a 5 star rating from my own point of view. These will be short posts and the focus will be on the picture(s). The other post will be a new Franken with pictures. Until then, I will have some posts and I will be in the process of creating a light box which I hope will make the pictures look more beautiful and professional :)

I hope you like these posts and I'll be waiting for your feedback ;)
Cheers,

Franken #9: Sparkly Auburn

Good Evening Ladies,

Today's post is short. I haven't been posting a lot lately even though I still create new frankens and take pictures of them. I have been so busy at work and the weather hasn't been all that great. It is -18 degrees outside and I just feel so tired and lazy :) This is today's Franken; a sparkly auburn color. It has multi-colored shimmers. I don't know if they show up in the pictures below. I decided to create a light box to improve the quality of my pictures. It would be my next project but the next few posts will probably not use the light box. A sweet lady from Makeup alley asked me if I would like to swap some of my frankens. I was so happy that someone thought they are beautiful and she hasn't even seen my box of frankens. I'll be sending her pictures :) Let me know what you think of this new color :)

Franken #8: Antiqued Mauve

Today is November 13th. I haven't been writing as much on the blog as I wish. A couple of days ago we saw the snow for the first time this season in the city where I live. It is a bit late compared to last year. It's been harder to find sun so I can take clear pictures of my frankens, can't do anything about the sun. See the picture of the first snow at the end :) I was thinking however to create some sort of good lighting indoors which can capture the beauty of these babies. I don't have a lot of experience with lighting, can anyone help? If you have suggestions about good lighting indoors let me know in the comments below :)

Anyhow, today's franken is a beautiful Mauve color with different colored shimmers. Sometimes it looks like an antiqued goldish color, sometimes it looks brownish and in some lights it is just a beautiful mauve. I fell in love with it the moment I put it on and I was happy to find that the formula turned out to be great unlike some other franken attempts. I used Seche Vite on top since I got bored from the Revlon top coat I used throughout the last couple of months. It started to become thicker and sometimes it causes bubbles. I will leave you now with my pretty franken Antiqued Mauve :) The pictures aren't that great so let me know if you have suggestions for indoor lighting. Also let me know what you think of the color in the comments below ;)

Franken #7: Sparkly Taupe :)

Hi there dear readers. This is yet another Franken day :) Does this look close to the one I posted last week? Well in pictures they are a bit close but in person they are very different. This is a beautiful greyish taupe color with silver flex. I just love this color and all dusty taupy greyish colors :)

Tell me what you think of this color. Would you love to wear it? What would you name it? Tell me in the comments below :)

Love to you :)

My Nails Today: L.A Girl Antique and Wet n Wild hannah pinktana

Hi there :) My nails today have Wet n Wild hannah pinktana layered on top of L.A Girl Antique. The combination looks nice and the holographic fine glitter in hannah pinktana really sparkles in the light. It was hard to capture in photos given the modest sun we see these days :( I can only take pictures on the weekends when I can be at home while it's sunny. What do you think of this combo?

Kleancolor Chunky Holos, Haul and Review

Hi there :) This post is a haul and review of some Chunky Holo colors from Kleancolor. I got these a few weeks ago from eBay after I saw some swatches of them online. The colors looked amazing in the swatches but I knew the formula and its smell were kind of annoying. I hesitated at first but I got them anyways. You can't resist such colors for so long :D

(L-R) Chunky Holo Bluebell, Chunky Holo Scarlet, Chunky Holo Black

Chunky Holo Bluebell: a blue jelly with these beautiful opal glitters. They reflect orange and green mainly. This color is best in layering. See how beautifully it was layered over black in my swatch below.

(L-R) Chunky Holo Bluebell, Chunky Holo Black, Chunky Holo Scarlet

Also see the layering swatches on ThePolishaholic.

Chunky Holo Scarlet: Red jelly base with glitters which reflect green and orange sometimes but mainly they are red. See also the swatches of this color in this post by nihrida.

Chunky Holo Black: This color is absolutely amazing. It has different sized hex opal glitter. They layer beautifully on black and other dark colors. The swatches below are over black.

You can find other layering swatches in this post by the-swatchaholic. These polishes are so cheap by the way (around $1.5 to $2 depending on where you get them). I could not find them in any stores near me in Canada so I had to get them from eBay and it was a good deal. They have some drawbacks, however. They smell awful and the consistency is rather thick. They take a long time to dry and if you don't dry them well before adding a top coat, they bubble.

What do you think about these colors?
